Job Overview
Proform Construction Products is hiring a Plant Carpenter to join our Calgary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to create or modify precast forms and structures.

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the successful candidate will help to support the production team to create customized concrete forms and projects.

Full time, permanent, 40+ hours per week, various shift times, frequent overtime.

Salary Range $27.00 - $36.00/ per hour based on skill level and experience.

As a Plant Carpenter, your duties will include:

  • Produce inverse form of shop drawing using supplied woods made for precast
  • Determine specifications and calculate requirements as per shop drawings – lumber take offs
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare layouts, ensuring accuracy
  • Use resins/fiberglass and other patching material, sand forms, use chemical coatings, and prepare forms for use
  • Monthly inventory of all carpenter shop materials and consumables
  • Fabricate custom pieces as required by project specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/ Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
  • 1+ years’ experience in formwork carpentry
  • Experience with table saws, drill presses, and other carpentry related tools required
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to read blueprints and drawings accurately is required.
  • Valid safety certificates such as: Fall Arrest, First-Aid, Telehandler Forklift Certificate, are assets.
  • Valid driver's license & own vehicle is an asset
  • Motivated, Hardworking, able to work overtime and Saturdays if needed
  • Team player and safety oriented
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship.

Working Conditions:

  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds may be required.
