Automotive Technician/Light Duty Mechanic

We are looking for a self-motivated, quality oriented Automotive Technician/Light Duty Mechanic with 2+ years’ experience to join our fleet maintenance team. This position revolves mostly around preventative maintenance on our equipment and includes light and heavy-duty repairs. Must be reliable, hardworking, self-motivated, and able to perform duties as assigned. Must be diversified to work on all makes of pickups and trailers. Knowledge of skid-steers, excavators, loaders, and small engines a must.

This position is currently a seasonal position but may turn into permanent year-round work

Job Duties:

  • Repairs and maintains light duty construction equipment, including skid- steers, loaders, graders, backhoes, hydraulic and mechanical cranes, pickup trucks, generators, etc. by performing the following duties.
  • Assures industry, client, DOT, company policies and procedures are adhered too.
  • Assists the team to prioritize equipment needs, maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns.
  • Determine and institute the best maintenance business practices.
  • Ensures the fleet is in compliance with all DOT laws including maintenance records, and annual inspections.
  • Maintains equipment DOT files for compliance and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certified Journeyman Automotive Technician
  • Candidate must be familiar with light duty gas & diesel engines
  • Two or more years of previous hands-on equipment and/or engine experience, diagnostics and troubleshooting experience working diesel powered light duty truck engines.
  • Able to consistently work standard five-day work schedules, including occasional overtime.
  • Candidate must be professional, work with integrity, be adaptive.
  • The successful candidate will display a sense of urgency and use his/her initiative to remain on task as well as complete jobs correctly and efficiently.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license.
  • Candidate must be proficient with email.
  • Fleet coordination experience an asset.
  • CVIP Certified
